JAY – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday for Norman W. LaPlante at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay preceded by prayers at Finley Funeral Home, Livermore Falls. Officiating was the Rev. Roger Chabot. Readings were done by Wilfred LaPlante and Heather LaPlante and gifts were brought to the altar by Roger LaPlante and Dennis Letalien. Hymns “We Will Rise Again,” “Ave Maria,” “You Are Mine” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic” were sung by the resurrection choir accompanied by Therese Therrien. Members of the military organizations were Don LeSuer, Palmer Hebert, Francis Therrien, Wally Tripp, Mike Wadsworth, Harvey Sabin, Dick Moreau, Greg McDonald, Billy Therrien, Richard Dupont, Bob Roy and Bob Welch. Pallbearers were Sally Hanson, Lee Hanson, Roger LaPlante, Dennis Litalien and Dan Litalien. The flag was presented to Mrs. LaPlante by Don LeSuer. Bert Simoneau of the American Legion played “taps.” Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Livermore Falls.
