TOPSHAM – Florence Bazinet Sutton, 87, of Brunswick, died Aug. 20, at Amenity Manor Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 12, 1921, in Lewiston, the daughter of Arthur and Angelina Labrecque Bazinet. She graduated from Mount Merici Academy in Waterville.

A beautician by trade, she owned and operated a beauty salon on Lisbon Street in Lewiston during the World War II years. On Nov. 11, 1946, she married her one and only sweetheart, John R. Sutton, at Holy Family Church in Lewiston.

Together they reared four children and traveled extensively, particularly to attend credit union meetings and conferences.

She was a communicant and volunteer at St. John the Baptist Church and a member of the Daughters of Isabella.

She is survived by a son, Daniel and his wife, Jeanne, of Brunswick; three daughters, Doreen Sutton of Kent, Wash., Donna Sutton of Cumberland and the Rev. Debra Sutton and her husband, Vernon Beals, of Malvern, Pa.; her grandchildren, Shawn Sutton and his wife, Jessica of Brunswick, Steven Sutton and his wife, Kelly, of Auburn and Erin Sutton-Beals of Malvern, Pa.; a great-grandson, Jacobi Sutton, three months, of Auburn; a brother, Bertrand Bazinet and his wife, Muriel of Augusta; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Roland and Paul Bazinet; and a sister, Georgette Fournier.

The family thanks the staff of Dionne Commons, Amenity Manor and Hospice for their tender care.
