NORWAY – Jacqueline A. Spencer, 84, of Norway, died Monday, Aug. 18, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Livermore Falls on Nov. 2, 1923, the daughter of Edmond and Alta Timberlake Arsenault. She graduated from Weld High School in 1942.

She had been a switchboard operator for the phone company and a homemaker all of her life. She was a member of the Oxford Historical Society, Lake Thompson Senior Citizens and the South Paris Senior Citizens. She was a 56-year member of the Foster-Carroll American Legion Post 72. She was a member of the Floyd Harlow VFW and the Grange.

She loved our dogs, Peppy and Smutty. She enjoyed dancing and making others smile.

She is survived by her children, Richard V. Berry, Jerome and Irene Perry, Garry and Betty Spencer and Carol Dean; grandchildren, Richard B. Berry, Mike Ferris, April Mitchell and husband, Larry, Tanya Spencer, Garry P. Spencer, Corrine Warren, Linda Jenkins and husband, James, Vicky Beckwyth, Tod, Lenny Ward Perry; great-grandchildren, Trisha, Tiffani, Madyson and Tanner Mitchell, Caleb and Mike Ferris, Kevyn Warren, Rylee Koehn, Adam Perry, Landon Perry and Justin Beckwyth.

She was predeceased by her first husband, George Berry, who was killed in World War II and buried in France; her second husband, Harold Spencer; her long-time companion, Carl Huotari; son, Edmond Spencer; son-in-law, Gordon Dean; grandson-in-law, Alex Beckwyth; and two grandchildren, Patty Paine and Doreen Perry.
