RENO, Nev. – Carolyn Rose Abbott Blair, mother, wife and best friend, made her final journey on Aug. 14, after a valiant battle with Crohn’s disease.

She lived her life to the fullest and was an example to all who knew her. Spoiling her grandchildren was one of her greatest joys. She also enjoyed searching for that special item to add to her collections.

She was born on Dec. 17, 1947, in Lewiston, she was raised in nearby Mechanic Falls. While attending Mechanic Falls High School, she found a career with AT&T and after graduation she transferred to Oakland, Calif., making an epic cross country trip on a Greyhound bus.

A Telephone Pioneer, she received numerous honors during her 36 years with AT&T and was the highest performing frame technician.

On Dec. 22, 1968, she married the love of her life, Robert Blair Sr. in Oakland, Calif. In 1971, they moved to Davis, Calif., where they raised their family. After retirement, they moved to Cold Springs (Reno), Nev.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Blair Sr.; mother, Dorothy Abbott, and brother, Robert Abbott, both of Mechanic Falls; sister, Donna Cobb, of Windham; sons, Robert (Cathy) Blair Jr. of Reno, Nev., and Steven Blair of Kingman, Ariz.; daughters, Angela Brooks-Reese and Dee Anna Sherman, both of Mesquite, Nev.; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; extended family, Jan Adams and Christine Adams of Reno, Nev.; and numerous family and friends.
