Norway – Lieselotte (Lilo) B. Knudson, 85, of Norway, died Thursday, Aug. 7, at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway.

Lilo was born in Nuernberg, Germany, on March 6, 1923, to Andreas and Dorothea (Krapp) Stirnweiss. She was educated in Germany.

She married Henry S. Knudson in 1953, in Bamburg, Germany, while he was serving there in the U.S. Army. It was then that they moved to the U.S. where Lilo became a U.S. citizen.

After moving to Norway, Lilo dedicated herself to a life of volunteerism in the Oxford Hills area. In 1992, she received the Community Service Award for her dedicated service to people in the Oxford Hills area. She ran the Stephens Memorial Hospital coffee shop for over 20 years, enjoyed cooking for the Heywood Club, the Universalist Church Community lunch, and Kiwanis dinners at the Second Congregational Church. She had worked for over 12 years at the Good Shepard food bank. Member of the Second Congregational Church in Norway and the American Legion Auxiliary for over 40 years.

She owned and operated the Colonial Coffee shop in Norway.

She is survived by two sons, Henry of Norway and Andrew of Parks Rapid, Minn.; and brother, Wolfgang Stirnweiss of Germany.
