FAYETTE – Betty Jane Nason, 42, of South Road, Fayette, lost her courageous battle with ovarian cancer on July 24.
She was born at Central Maine Medical Center on Nov. 11, 1965, the daughter of Lloyd and Regina Strout. She graduated from Monmouth Academy in 1984. After graduating, she worked at Tex-Tech Industries for several years where she met her husband. She married her soul mate, George Nason Oct. 5, 1991. Then together they pursued a career in trucking and construction industry. She also worked at Tambrands of Auburn since 2000.
Beside her husband, two great dogs, (Scooby and Abby) and two wonderful cats, (Nemo and Mildred), survivors include three brothers, Bruce and Linda Pelky of Litchfield, Jack Pelky of Fargo, N.D., and Lloyd Strout Jr. of Monmouth; three sisters, all of Monmouth, Bonita Girardin (Richard), Linda Smith (Harold) and Darlene Cripps (David); several wonderful nieces and nephew; father-in-law, Clayton Nason; sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Paul Pettengill; brother-in-law, Ralph Nason; and sister-in-law, Karen Nason.
She loved four-wheeling with George. “Nothing more pathetic in this world than a Red Sox fan. Go Red Sox.”
