LEWISTON – Paul Matthew Libbey died peacefully on Friday, July 18, at Central Maine Medical Center in the presence of his family.

Born in Lewiston on Oct. 23, 1966, he was educated in local schools and at the Woodhall School in Bethlehem, Conn., pursued later interests and studies in electronics and mechanics at the Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute, and worked at Scotia Co. in Lewiston.

Paul’s intelligence and curiosity were lively, his generosity was great, and his sense of humor was quick and good-natured.

His hobbies included repairing and restoring cars. He also enjoyed motorcycles, animals and music, played guitar, and was learning piano.

A person of deep faith and inner strength, he had a warm and close relationship with his family, and he is sorely missed by them.

He is survived by his mother and father, Birgit and Paul R. Libbey, of Lewiston; brothers, David of South Carolina, Mark and sister-in-law, Carolyn, of Lewiston, Robert of Lewiston, and Peter and sister-in-law, Kaylinda, of Warren; and sister, Ruth Libbey of Cambridge, Mass.
