LEWISTON – Rena L. Voisine, 72, of Montello Commons, died Thursday, July 17, with her loving husband by her side.
She was born in St. David, on June 3, 1936, a daughter of Joseph L. and Irene (Chasse) Fraser. She was educated at local schools until she moved to Lewiston to begin work at the local mills. In 1954, she married the love of her life, Normand Voisine. She worked at several of the local mills until her retirement in 1996. She found time in her later years to obtain her GED.
She enjoyed reading, especially Danielle Steel novels, knitting, making blankets and “pea shoes” for family and friends.
She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and the way she and Norman teased and completed each other.
She is survived by her husband, Normand Voisine of 54 years; sisters, Edwina (Fraser) Madore of South Portland and Gilmay (Fraser) and Ronald Cayer of Lewiston; a brother, Joel and Kathy Fraser of Mechanic Falls; and a sister-in-law, Irene Fraser of Auburn; she leaves godchildren Debbie Vaillencourt, Linda McLeod, Linda Bard and Michael Fraser.
She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Camille (Joe) Fraser; and a brother-in-law, Reynold Madore.
