LEWISTON – M. Jeanne Carbonneau, 87, formerly of 74 Lake Auburn Avenue, Auburn, died Saturday, July 12, at the Montello Manor in Lewiston, following a long illness.
Born in Lewiston on Oct. 17, 1920, she was the daughter of Raoul and Lillian Lebrun Fortin. Educated in local schools, she married Lucien Carbonneau at St. Louis Church on Oct. 6, 1943. Mr. Carbonneau passed away on Nov. 3, 1990. After her children were grown, Jeanne went to work for several years in the housekeeping department of St. Mary’s Hospital. A member of St. Louis Parish, she was a past president of Le Dames de Ste. Anne, hosting many of their card parties and fundraisers, a past vice president of the St. Louis Booster Club, and also traveled extensively, enjoyed crochet and loved to play cards with her family and friends.
Survivors include six sons, Paul and wife, Lynda, of Glendale, Ariz., Marc and wife, Carol, of Lewiston, Ronald of Portland, Denis and wife, Giselle, of Essex Junction, Vt., Jean of Portland and Roger of Auburn; two daughters, Clio and husband, George Draper, of Wayne, and Marie and husband, Rene Ouellette, of Lewiston; a sister, Gloria “Min” Bilier of Auburn; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband; she is predeceased by two brothers, Raoul and Leo; and a sister, Rita Bookholdt.
