Minot – Dean Ellis Chapman, 58, of Harris Road, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 7, at the John F. Murphy Home in Minot.
He was born on Aug. 10, 1949, in Bath, the eldest son of Alyce E. and Irene E. Denham Chapman. As a child, he enjoyed putting multi-piece puzzles together, working at his tool bench and riding his bike. He also liked to fish at his grandparents’ cottage at Pemaquid Lake.
He attended Bath schools until the age of 13 when, due to his disability, he was unable to further his education.
For the past 20 years he has been a resident of the John F. Murphy Homes of Auburn where he has been greatly appreciated and warmly cared for.
He was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Bath.
He is survived by his mother, Irene Racine Murphy of Topsham; a brother, Michael L. and his wife, Victoria, Chapman of Randolph; two sisters, Angela S. and her husband, Edward, MacDonald of Woolwich and Christie E. Gasper of Brunswick; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Alyce E. Chapman, and a nephew, Bryan C. Chapman.
