BIDDEFORD – Hazel Iola Edwards, 81, of Southridge Living Center and Johnson Hill Road, Poland, died late Thursday, June 19, in Biddeford.

She was born in Poland, July 13, 1926, the daughter of Clarence and Ethel Keene. She attended the schools in Poland. For many years, she was a private housekeeper for many homes, specially in the Poland Spring area of Maine. In her later years, she helped raise her grandchildren. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts, which included gardening, cooking, knitting and crocheting.

She is survived by two daughters, Dianna Curtis of Las Vegas, Nev., and Fayleen Coffren of South Paris; one sister, Rowena Donnell; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by one son, Roger Edwards Jr., of Londonderry, N.H.
