SCARBOROUGH – Claudia (Conant) Duperey passed away on Saturday, June 21, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House from a truly courageous battle with melanoma.

She was born on May 4, 1944, the daughter of Roger Frances and Lillian (Shaw) Conant in Lewiston.

She graduated in 1962, from Edward Little High School and in 1994, from Mid-State College with an associate degree in medical assisting. She worked various clerical jobs in Lewiston-Auburn area. Her last job in Lewiston was Androscoggin Clinical Associates. She moved to Portland in 2002, and her last employer there was Hannaford’s on Riverside.

Her greatest love in life was her family and friends. She found it most important to spend as much time as possible with “the ones she loved.”

She leaves her adored children, Carol Burgess and life partner, Jayne Heselton, of Portland, Daniel and Elizabeth Burgess of Waterville, Ann and Sean Petty of Windham; and her six angels, Taylor, Alex, Devin, Drew, Jadon and Cole.

Her family would like to thank the entire staff at Gosnell Memorial Hospice for taking such great care of her and giving them more time to spend with her. They would also like to say thanks for all the support from UNUM, Canteen Service and Hannaford, during this difficult time.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Duperey; and both her mother and father.
