LEWISTON – Elise Morrison, 90, of Schooner Estates, Auburn, died Saturday, May 17, at Russell Park Rehab and Living Center.

She was born in Bowdoinham, Nov. 11, 1917, the daughter of Erle L. and Hazel G. Cornish Browne. She attended Bowdoinham schools and graduated from Coombs High School in 1936. She attended nursing school at the Maine Eye and Ear Infirmary in Portland.

On Aug. 9, 1938, she married Robley H. Morrison Jr. He died Nov. 12, 1997.

She was a devoted mother, wife, homemaker, and friend to many who received her greatest pleasure in life raising her family and helping others. For 17 years, she lived in Houlton. She also previously lived in Marquette, Mich., Summit, N.J., Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Topsham. She had lived in Auburn since 1997.

She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in several states, where she resided. She served as a Girl Scout leader and as a Jacobs Daughter leader. She was an avid bridge player.

Surviving is a son, Robley H. Morrison Ph.D., of Presque Isle; a daughter, Jane Morrison Josselyn of Veazie; three sisters, Mary Morgan of South Portland, Hazel Mitchell of Woolwich and Erla Kelley of Southport; four grandchildren; and two very special great-grandchildren, Sylvia Morin and Serephina Cranson.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Leola Morrison; and sisters, Miriam Rideout and Esther Pierpont.
