LISBON FALLS – Freeman Henry Shorette Jr., 82, of 678 Lisbon Road, died Sunday, May 4, at his home.
He was born in Island Falls, Oct. 23, 1926, a son of Freeman and Elizabeth Russell Shorette Sr. He worked at U.S. Gypsum Plant in Lisbon Falls on the loading dock, and later worked at the Art Taylor Service Station (Titus Gas & Oil) prior to his retirement.
He was a member of Independent Odd Fellows of Lisbon, Knights of Pythias of Bowdoinham and Nina Rebekah Lodge of Lisbon. He was also a former member of the Lisbon Falls fire and police departments
He is survived by his wife, the former Martha J. Roberts of Bowdoin, whom he married July 26, 1958; two sons, Freeman H. Shorette III of Lisbon Falls and Fred S. and his wife, Lisa Shorette, of Bowdoinham; three grandchildren, Chad, Taryn and Erika; two great-grandchildren, Johnathan and Alissa; a special uncle, Bill Russell of Bath; his several in-laws, nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Millard (Joe) Shorette and Theodore (Teat) Shorette; and a special nephew, Samual Shorette.
