OXFORD – John A. Johnston, 68, of Oxford, died Monday, May 5, at his residence with his loving family by his side.
He was born on July 14, 1939, the son of John A. Johnston ll and Ella (Connor) West Johnston. He married Cynthia Blake on Dec. 7, 2004. He had worked for Aetna as a construction supervisor until his retirement.
He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Elks lodge in Rockville, Conn.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia of Oxford; his father of Conneaut, Ohio; his children, John R. Johnston of Enfield, Conn., and Donald R. Johnston and his wife, Kim, of Horne Lake, Miss., Lisa M. Dunham and husband, Scott W., of Oxford and Troy and his wife, Nicole Joslin, of Tolland, Conn.; brothers, Donald Terwilliger of Buffalo, N.Y., Duane Johnston of Conneaut, Ohio, and Dale Johnston, also of Ohio; a sister, Darlene Sietman of Ashabula, Ohio; six grandchildren, Alexandra, Nicolette, Hollie, Cole, Angelena and Gianna.
He was predeceased by his mother; and a brother, Ted Terwilliger.
