BOWDOINHAM – Janet Shirley, 64, of Bowdoinham, passed away at her home April 19, with her family by her side.
She spent her whole life caring and giving of herself to others. She raised her family in Westbrook then moved to Bowdoinham to build and have the farm she always wanted.
She went to school and got her licensed practical nursing license and was in nursing until May 2007, when she found out about having cancer. She spent her last year with family and friends.
She is survived by a large family: brothers, Walt Cragin of Westbrook and Harry Cragin of South Portland; mother, Joanie Cragin of Harrison; children, Danny Farwell of Poland, Mary Avery of Minot, Bill Farwell and Nancy Soule of Bowdoinham, David Shirley of Oregon, Susan Mooney of South Portland, Cindy Lozier of Buxton, Karen Shirley of Ohio, and Colleen Selberg of Standish; all of their spouses; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
She will be joining her husband, Cecil, brother, Ernie and her mom and dad.
