SOUTH PARIS – Cora R. Slicer Hayden, 91, of Oxford, passed away on April 28 at Market Square Health Care Center after a brief illness.

She was born in Methuen, Mass., on June 15, 1916, the daughter of Harry and Mary A. Briggs Riley. She attended schools in Methuen, graduating from Edward F. Searles High School in 1933, and two years at Cannon Business College in Lawrence, Mass. On June 15, 1940, she married Leonard Slicer.

They lived in South Berwick and had two children, Mary and Ted. In 1948, they moved to Oxford. She was a homemaker for a number of years.

When her children started school, she went to work, first at Goodwin’s Insurance Co. and then for 17 years in the office at Robinson’s Manufacturing Co. Her husband passed away in 1973.

In 1974, she married C. Winslow Hayden of Auburn. They resided at 501 Court St. C. Winslow Hayden passed away in 1986. In 1988, she moved back to Oxford to be nearer her family. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and sewing.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Alice Record and husband, Gene; son, Ted Slicer and wife, Ginny; grandchildren, Barbara Flagg and husband, Malcolm, Bonnie Jones and husband, Steve, Darlene Thompson and husband, John, Debbie Plourde and husband, Tom, Shane Slicer and wife, Dianne, Bobbi-Jean Palmer and husband, Chris and Tracie Page and husband, Chris; she will be remembered as “G.G.” to her great-grandchildren, Brent, Blair, Tim, Nate, Jenna, Briana, Lucas, Darlene, Brian, Tia, Blake, Cameron, Allison, Kane, Hayden, Brendan and Kayla; one great-great-grandchild, Nathan Moscone.

She was predeceased by husband, Leonard Slicer Sr. in 1973; husband, C. Winslow Hayden in 1986; sister, Florence Bellwood; granddaughter, Cathy Record; and great-granddaughter, Alicia Plourde.
