LEWISTON – Scott C. Pettengill, 53, a resident of Oak Street in Lewiston, died very unexpectedly Wednesday, April 9, at his home.

He was born on July 31, 1954, in Farmington, the son of Gary Pettengill and Avis (Jewett) Pettengill. He attended the grammar schools of Livermore and received his GED from Livermore Falls High School.

He worked as a laborer for local construction companies. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cribbage, and was an avid Red Sox and NASCAR fan. He especially looked forward to the time he spent with his family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Avis Pettengill, and her companion, Clinton Robinson, of North Jay; his father, Gary Pettengill, and his companion, Anna Mitchell, of South Livermore; two sisters and their husbands, Pamela and George Sanipas of Lewiston and Lisa and Todd Hiscock of North Jay; uncles and aunts; one niece; and many nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews.
