NEW PORTLAND – A service of thanksgiving for the life of Ronald Hutchins was held Wednesday from the New Portland Community Church with the Rev. C. Scott Planting officiating. Nan Berry was organist and soloist. Congregational hymns included “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” and “Onward Christian Soldiers.” Nan sang “In Heavenly Love Abiding.” Scripture readings were Romans 8, Psalm 23 and The Gospel. There was a time for personal remembrances and the service concluded with a military tribute by the honor guard from Camp Keyes, Augusta. A reception followed in the church meeting room. Winter entombment at the funeral home. Spring committal services will be held at the East New Portland Cemetery. Pallbearers were Eric Hutchins, Chris Carlson, Maynard Hanrahan, Josh Hanrahan, Scott Stowell and Dan Nash. Arrangements were in the care of the Wiles Remembrance Center Farmington.
