NORWAY – The Rev. Linwood A. Hanson, 80, of Bryant Pond went home Sunday, March 16, to be with his Lord and Savior with whom he had a lifelong relationship.
He was born in Bradford, Dec. 23, 1927, a son of Arthur and Doris Jones Hanson. He graduated from Bradford High School. In 1956, he graduated from the New Brunswick Bible Institute in Victoria, New Brunswick. He was a pastor for 42 years, seven years at the First Baptist Church of West Gardiner and 35 years at the Bryant Pond Baptist Church. He was a gentle, Godly man who loved the ministry. He produced the “Bryant Pond Hour” on the local cable network. He enjoyed photography, videos and cameras. He also enjoyed carpentry and designing buildings. On Sept. 22, 1950, he married Virginia Rozelle.
Survivors include his wife of Bryant Pond; a daughter, Ellen Hanson of Bryant Pond; a sister, Jane Rozelle and her husband, Lloyd, of Guilford; an aunt, Noreen Jones of Corinth; a sister-in-law, Barbara Rozelle of Bryant Pond; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, John in 1974.
