LEWISTON – Gloria J. Hobart, 79, of Owen Street in Lewiston died Monday, March 10, at d’Youville Pavilion with her family at her side.

She was born in Lewiston, Oct. 18, 1928, a daughter of Raymond and Mabel (Ramsdell) Cole and graduated from Lewiston High School. Except for a brief time living in Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut prior to moving back to this community in 1988, she was a lifelong resident of this area.

She worked as a homemaker for many years as she and her husband, Ray, raised their family. Among her favorite enjoyments in her free time were spending time with her family and grandchildren, gardening, cooking, crafts and fishing. She was also an avid outdoors person who loved cross-country skiing, animals, feeding birds and wildlife in general.

She leaves her husband of 59 years, Raymond Hobart of Lewiston; a daughter, Brenda Nolan and husband, Bill, of Auburn; two sons, Bruce Hobart and wife, Ann, of Mechanic Falls and Jeff Hobart and wife, Patti, of Wilmington, Mass.; six grandchildren, Mark Nolan, and Jesse, April, Colby, Casey and Taylor Hobart; three great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Maggie and Molly; a sister, Nancy Moody of Brunswick; and several nieces and nephews.
