WATERVILLE – Edith (Edie) A. Robinson Wright, 79, a resident of Bingham, died Saturday, Feb. 16, at Thayer Campus of Maine General Hospital, with husband and loved ones by her side.

She was born in Auburn, Feb. 8, 1929, a daughter of Omer and Dorothy (Buckley) Robinson. She was educated in local schools and has made her home in the Lewiston-Auburn area, Lisbon and most recently, Bingham.

She was married to Paul O. Wright II, also a native of Auburn. Edie worked many years at restaurants in the Lewiston-Auburn area as a waitress and hostess, including Steckino’s, Gordon’s Restaurant, Sparetime, Sing’s and Graziano’s in Lisbon. She later worked at Raytheon for a time and then at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center as a certified nursing assistant, prior to working at General Electric, until her retirement.

Among her favorite enjoyments were spending time with her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her horses, the company of her many cats and dogs over the years and watching birds in the feeders in her backyard.

She leaves behind her husband, Paul O. Wright II; eight children, Judith, Allan, Dana, Teresa, Patricia, Louella, Jeffrey and Trudy; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her sisters and brothers, John, Dorothy, Gloria, Donna, Edward, Thomas and George.

She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Omer; two sisters, Betty and June; and a granddaughter, Stacy.

She was a lover of jazz music. She will be sadly missed by all who really loved and knew her. A special thank-you to all her doctors and medical staff who assisted her during her illness.
