Bryant Pond – Berniece Emma Swan, 92, died at her residence on Feb. 14.

She was born in Sumner on March 13, 1915, the daughter of Emery and Ester (Amero) Ryerson and was educated in local schools. Prior to her marriage to Moses Swan on Aug. 29, 1945, she had worked as a nanny and later a homemaker having lived in Bryant Pond for 63 years. She loved to knit and crochet.

She is survived by a daughter, Marie Swan Pearson of Queen Creek, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Michael Cummings and his wife, Julie, Dawn Mackenzie and her husband, Ben, Michelle Winslow and her husband, Peter, Todd Mackenzie and his wife, Karen and Brandy Maddocks and her husband, Mitch; six great-grandchildren, Meaghan and Amber Cummings, Janna, Jared and Johncurtis Winslow and Hannah Moran; one great-great-grandson, Noah Smith; and seven nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1983; one daughter, Noreen Swan Russo in 1995; four sisters; and three brothers.
