BRADFORD, Ill. – Anne Marie McCurdy of Bradford died at 6:45 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Anne Marie Richards in Lewiston.

Prior to moving to Bradford in December 1991, she was program director for Brazos Valley Development Council on alcohol and substance abuse for the state of Texas. She also owned and operated a successful business in Bryan College Station and was active in Texas politics, providing campaign consulting for candidates.

An avid horsewoman, she bred and sold thoroughbreds and paints in Texas and Bradford. She and her husband owned and operated McCurdy Enterprises in Bradford. She was beloved as a warm heart; loving wife; devoted mother and grandmother; voracious reader; gourmet cook; gracious hostess; loyal and thoughtful friend and an informed, intuitive and often prescient political analyst of the national scene.

She is survived by her husband, George Dana McCurdy; her children, Mary Massie, Glenn Filley and Lisa Acreman, all of Bradford, Ill., and Michael (and Marion) Filley of York, Pa.; her grandchildren, Christopher, Jessica, Cassie, Elizabeth, Brandon, Sarah and Chris; three great-grandchildren; and her brother, Donald (and Carol) Richards of Palm Harbor, Fla.

She was predeceased by her father and mother, Donald and Helen Ayers Richards of Lewiston.

She will be sadly missed by a host of family and friends all over the world.
