LEWISTON – Robert A. Brown, 51, of Harrison, and formerly of Rumford, died Sunday, Feb. 3, at the Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Rumford, on Sept. 7, 1956, a son of Gerald and Marjorie (Roy) Brown. He graduated from Rumford High School, Class of 1975, attended New England College for two years in Henniker, N.H., and graduated from the University of Southern Maine, Class of 1985 with his degree in psychology.

He worked for Unum Providence Insurance Co. in Portland for several years in the claims department until retirement due to disability.

He was injured in a ski jumping accident on Feb. 27, 1977, which resulted in a spinal cord injury, and even though he was permanently injured, he still loved skiing and still attended ski trips to Lake Placid and overseas.

He was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Church. He enjoyed life and loved his family.

Survivors include his parents of Rumford; brothers Darryl Brown and wife, Sharon, of Newington, N.H., Glenn Brown of Jackson, N.H., and Daniel Brown of Jay; two nieces, Lauren and Renee Brown of Newington, N.H.
