AUBURN – Claudette R. Lachance Carbonneau, 72, of 100 Ninth St., Auburn, died Friday, Feb. 1, after a long courageous battle with lung disease, with her family by her side.
She was born in Auburn on Jan. 29, 1936, the daughter to Cleopas and Eva Boisvert Lachance. She was educated in Auburn schools, graduated from Edward Little High School in 1955, and married in 1955.
She worked for many years at Lumbard Shoe Shop and Hill Mill until she stayed at home to raise her six children. She loved spending time with her children and her cat Babe. She also loved shopping, but her greatest pleasure in life, however, was the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by three sons, Daniel Carbonneau and his wife, Ronda, of Lewiston, Tony Carbonneau and his fiancée, Cindy Kirouac, of Lewiston, and Michael Carbonneau and his wife, Lisa, of Saco; and three daughters, Kim Brushwein of Ellsworth, Mona Carbonneau of Arlington, Mass., and Brenda Swett and her husband, Mark, of Auburn.
She is also survived by one brother, Roger Lachance of Auburn; two sisters, Muguette (Maggie) Landry of Lewiston, and Sister Jeanne D’arc Lachance of Quebec; three sisters-in-law, Carmen Palardy of Lewiston, Arvilla Lachance of Turner, and Rita Lachance of Lewiston; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one Godchild, James Lachance and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; five brothers, Laurier, Norman, Robert, Richard and Conrad Lachance; and three sisters, Claire Lachance, Madeleine Turcotte and Theresa Lecompte.
