LEWISTON – Lorraine (Pelletier) Gray, 75, a resident of Livermore Falls, died Friday, Jan. 25, at Central Maine Medical Center surrounded by her family after a long illness.
She was born in Jay on June 28, 1932, the daughter of Antonio “Babe” and Fernande S. (Lepage) Pelletier and attended Livermore Falls High School.
On Oct. 8, 1960, she married Bernard L. Gray Jr. in Livermore. She was a longtime member of the VFW, Post 3335 Auxiliary Chaplain of Jay, where she served as junior vice chairman and kitchen chairman and was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, reading, and was very active raising her family.
She is survived by her husband, Bernard of Livermore Falls; five sons and five daughters, Sandra Fitzherbert and her husband, Doug, of Jay, Richard Andrews and his wife, Lorraine, of Biddeford, Chrystal Lapointe and her husband, Roland “Frenchie,” of Quinton, Va., Mark Andrews of Phoenix, Ariz., Mary Ann Gray of Marshall, Va., Christine Lachance-McDuff of Norman, Okla., Steven Gray and his wife, Lisa, of New Kent, Va., Lisa Desandre and her husband, John, of Willington, Utah, Kerry Gray of East Livermore and Jeffery Gray of Woonsocket, R.I.; brothers, Norman Pelletier and his companion, Nancy Benedetto, of Livermore Falls, Lionel Pelletier and his wife, Christine, of Livermore Falls and Adrian Pelletier of Livermore Falls; sisters, Constance Lawson of Livermore Falls, Annette Moody of Winthrop, Jacqueline Furst of Jay, Jeannine Moody of Livermore Falls and Bernice Pelletier of Jay; 23 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; a son, Stephen Andrews; a son-in-law, Raymond Lachance; an infant brother, Leo Pelletier; sisters, Vivian Pelletier and Delores Genthner; two nephews, Norman Pelletier Jr. and James Pelletier; and her dog, Sneakers.
