Canton – Sara Frances Parlin, 81, of East Wilton, slipped away peacefully late Saturday evening at Victorian Villa Nursing Home in Canton after a lengthy illness.
She was born June 15, 1926, a daughter of Clifford and Sarah Rackliffe Lothrop. She graduated from Wilton Academy in 1943. Frances, as she liked to be called, attended Bliss Business School in Lewiston, and on May 15, 1946, married Lewis S. Parlin.
She worked at the Wilton Woolen Mill, the Farmington IGA, Franklin Memorial Hospital and Franklin Savings Bank. She loved to dance with Lewis and also enjoyed fishing and going to the hunting camp.
She was a devoted wife and mother, as well as an accomplished seamstress and needlework artist. She attended the Wilton Congregational Church.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Lewis of East Wilton; daughter Linda Taylor and her husband, Dennis, of Wilton; son Peter Parlin and his wife, Kathleen, of Vassalboro; and daughter, Loanne Mosher and her husband, Reed, of Vicsburg, Miss.; grandchildren, D. Scott, Michael, Travis, Daya, Asha, Sarah, Greg and Mark; great-grandchildren, Dennis Jon, Lewis, Alyson, Nicole, Madison and Lilah;
She was predeceased by a brother, Clifford Jr.; her father, Clifford; her mother, Sarah Sprague; and stepmother, Doris.
The family would like to thank the staff at Victorian Villa for their loving care of Sara Frances.
