SABATTUS – Thelma Lapointe, 72, of Sabattus passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born to Benoit and Alia Bell in Van Buren on June 19, 1936.

She worked for Coburn Head Start in Lewiston for many years.

She enjoyed boating, fishing, playing bingo and taking trips to Mohegan Sun to play the slots with her sister, Lou. She was also very involved in ceramics and woodworking.

She is survived by her husband Maurice of Sabattus; six children, Burt Thomas and his wife, Jane, of Auburn, Darlene Moss and her husband, Vic, of Sullivan Mo., Brian Thomas, Scott Thomas of Lewiston, Alan Thomas and his wife, Janet, of Wales, and Kimberley Little and her husband, Willie, of Somersworth, N.H.; 12 grandchildren, Buffy, Amy and her husband, Rick, Jennifer and her husband, Jarod, Katrina and her husband, Brian, Michael, Amanda, Allyson, Melissa, Erica, Krista, Joshua and Charles; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Zachary, Dillon, Lily, Anthony and Sean; sisters, Terry Bryant, Hilda Tanguay, Lucille and her husband, Ross Lafrance; and brothers, Ben, Herb and his wife, Carol, Donald and his wife, Judy, Norm and his wife, Jolene, Ken, and Reno and his wife, Flo.

She was predeceased by her parents, one sister and two brothers.
