LEWISTON – Arthur M. Robinson, 82, of Townsend Brook Road, Auburn, died Sunday, Dec. 16, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, after a long illness.
He was born in Lewiston on Aug. 1, 1925, a son to the late Lawrence and Gloria (Gagnon) Robinson. He was educated in Auburn schools and later proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married the love of his life, Esther Warren, on July 24, 1948. He worked for 40 years at Ricker Hill Orchard in Turner. He was a member of East Auburn Baptist Church and the VFW Post 3335 in Jay. His enjoyments were the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter; he also enjoyed going for rides, going out to eat and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He leaves his wife of 59 years, Esther of Auburn; a son, Glen Robinson and his wife, Karen, of Buckfield; three daughters, Paulette Newcomb of Jay, Joan Leavitt and her husband, Christopher, of Turner and Anne Ho of Turner; a sister, Betty Sanford and her husband, Norm, of Bath; a brother, Robert Robinson and his wife, Beryl, of Auburn; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Scott Robinson; a brother, Lawrence Robinson; and a son-in-law, John Newcomb.
