AUBURN – George E. Vogt, 93, resident of Clover Healthcare, passed away on Dec. 1, at the AHHC Hospice House in Auburn.
Born on April 5, 1914, and raised in Philadelphia, Pa., he married Dorothy Stolzer in 1937, and settled in N.J.
He studied accounting at Temple University, Pa. During World War II, he served in the Navy.
His career included work for twp major publishing companies as a printer.
His love of numbers was expressed through serving as treasurer for his church, Crestwood, N.J., retirement Village 4, and other organizations.
Other interests included bowling, bocce, square dance calling, needlecraft and family camping.
After losing his wife of 50 years, he moved to Durham in 1994, to live with daughter, Barbara Jabaut and family.
An avid bridge player, he will be remembered by many who played with him at the Lewiston Multi-Purpose Center.
Survivors include daughters Barbara Jabaut and husband, Russell, of Durham and Linda Laub and husband, Dennis, of East Earl, Pa.; and grandsons Matthew and Peter Jabaut and Brian and Evan Laub.
