RUMFORD – Theodore J. Surette, 90, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the Rumford Community Home.
He was born in Rumford, Dec. 13, 1916, a son of George and Marie (Arsenault) Surette, and had attended Rumford schools. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
He worked at Oxford Paper Co. in Rumford in the basement crew for more than 35 years until retirement in 1975.
He was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Church; member of Napoleon Ouellette Post 24, American Legion; member Al & Ted Gauthier Chapter 21, DAV; member Boise Cascade Paper Co. 25-Year Club
Survivors include sons, Theodore F. of Dixfield, Edward of New Jersey, Thomas of Rumford, Michael of Mexico and Gary of Bangor; daughters, Joanne Cormier of Bangor, Annette Sinclair of Mexico, Deborah Hamlin of West Peru and Ida O’Donnell of Portland; sisters, Patty Racik of New Jersey, and Mae Grimard of Florida; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a special nephew, William “Bizz” Carignan of Rumford.
