LEWISTON – Laura L. St. Pierre, 100, of Oxford Street, Lewiston, where she has resided for the past 94 years, died Saturday, Nov. 24, at d’Youville Pavilion.

She was born in Berlin, N.H., on Dec. 13, 1906, a daughter to the late Frank and Elmire (Giasson) Paquette. She was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Church and later the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. She was also a member of Sec d’Youville Sec du Saint Sacrament.

She worked for different local shoe shops as a cementer. She was known for her knitting; she knitted for the Catholic charities for years, knitting hundreds of hats, mittens, scarves, etc., for people who needed them throughout this community. She was also known for her willingness to help others; her needs came second. When she was younger, she enjoyed her many trips to Old Orchard Beach.

She leaves a daughter, Dorothy Wilson and her husband, Joe Terry, of DeSoto, Texas; a son, Joseph Camille St. Pierre and his wife, Theresa, of Claremont, N.H.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Francoise Paquette; and a brother, Alphonse Paquette.
