POLAND – Charles R. Beaudet, 73, of Bailey Hill Road, Poland, died early Thursday morning, Nov. 22, at his home.
He was born in Lynn, Mass., on Jan. 15, 1934, the son of Antonio and Anna (Dupuis) Beaudet. He was educated in Franklin, N.H. schools and has been a resident of Maine since he met Rita in 1953. On Jan. 8, 1955, he married the former Rita A. Jacques.
Charles worked as a mechanic, first spending a number of years at Quality Heel Shoe Manufacturing and later working 23 years at Tambrands in Auburn until his retirement in 1989.
Charles was a veteran of the military, having served his country in the Air Force as an airplane mechanic.
He was a member of Holy Family Church and was also a member of the Cursillo Movement since 1980.
He was a hard worker with a terrific sense of humor who loved his family and greatly enjoyed big family events when they were all together.
Among his favorite enjoyments and hobbies were hunting, as he was always after that big buck, scuba diving, and playing games with his family. He not only played football in high school, he had a great passion for the game and always enjoyed watching it, and his favorite team, the New England Patriots, on his big screen TV.
He also enjoyed race car driving and in his earlier years, owned his own car which he drove at Oxford Plains Speedway.
He enjoyed singing and sang in the choirs for both Holy Family and St. Joseph’s churches for many years.
He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Rita Beaudet, of Poland; three daughters, Debbie Mike and husband, Bill, of Hawthorne, Fla., Julie Walker and husband, Frank, of Oxford, and Tina-Marie Beaudet of Poland; six sons, Lansa Beaudet of Norway, Tarain Beaudet and wife, Rhonda, of Otisfield, Manley Beaudet of Poland, Kim Beaudet of Poland, Aeon Beaudet of Canton and Tadd Beaudet of Poland; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Claire Donatelli of Revere, Mass.; and three brothers, Robert Beaudet of St. Petersburg, Fla., Richard Beaudet of Greenville, S.C., and Norman Beaudet and wife, Maureen, of Lynn, Mass.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Blake; a great-grandson, Dominic; his parents; and four brothers Leonard, Donald, Francis and Gerald.
