LEWISTON – Raymond A. Thibodeau, 38, of Kevin Street, died Nov. 17, at St. Mary’s hospital with his mother and dad by his side due to complications of recent brain surgery.

He was born in Lewiston on Aug. 29, 1969, the son of Raymond A. and Frances (Tobey) Thibodeau. He attended Auburn schools before joining the Army in 1986. He served with the Infantry 10th Mountain Division. He served overseas in Somalia, Panama, Honduras and Germany until 1994. He later worked at the Maine State Prison, Warren, as well as a postal carrier in Lewiston prior to his illness.

His passion was sports, including football, baseball, especially the Patriots and Red Sox. His hobby was refinishing furniture for friends and family. He had a great passion for his niece Amber, and his great-niece Julia, and his faithful dog Abby, who went everywhere with him.

He is survived by his mother, Frances Carver of Turner; his father, Raymond Thibodeau and stepmother, Patricia, of Lewiston; his step “Dad” Frederick Leighton of Auburn; one sister, Ruth Thibodeau of Bowdoinham; former brother-in-law, Dane Hughes of Lewiston; and uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his stepsister, Tracie Leighton in 1998.
