PORTLAND – Rena C. Shaw, 68, of New Gloucester, passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 16, at Maine Medical Center, after a courageous battle with a long illness. At the time of her death, she was surrounded by her loving husband of 49 years and her five children.

She was born on Sept. 15, 1939, the daughter of Walter and Alice Andrews and graduated from New Gloucester High School at the age of 16 in 1956.

She was best known for her love of family, German shepherds and crafting. Her careers ranged from full-time mother, office manager and real estate agent in Florida.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Shaw; two daughters, Susan Shaw of New Gloucester and Sally Shaw of Portland; three sons, Charles Shaw II of Gray, Raymond Shaw of Conway, N.H., and Kenneth Shaw of St. Augustine, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
