LEWISTON – Phyllis M. Lamb passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, Oct. 21, at Central Maine Medical Center, after a period of declining health.
She was born on Feb. 9, 1921, in Lisbon Falls, the daughter of Ralph Jones and Ora Packard Jones. She had been residing since May 2006 with her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Larry McClure at their home in Lisbon Falls.
Prior to her retirement in 1983, she was employed by the Grumbacher Co. in Brunswick as a brushmaker for 20 years.
In her earlier years, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting and spending time at the family cottage on Sabattus Lake with her late husband, Norman Lamb and their children and grandchildren.
The greatest joy in her life most recently was spending time with her seven great-grandchildren, Jordan, Cashman, Devin, Collin, Max, Keagan and Sylvia.
She is survived by her son, Brian Lamb and his fiancee, Laurie Whittemore, of Malta, N.Y.; her daughter, Barbara McClure and husband, Larry McClure, of Lisbon Falls; grandson, Ryan Lamb and wife, Tara, of Durham; grandson, Cory McClure and wife, Destiny, of New Hampton, N.H.; grandson, Jason Lamb and wife, Diane, of Gardiner; grandson, Aaron McClure and wife, Sara, of Readfield; grandson, Kristopher McClure of Lisbon Falls; grandson, Derek Lamb of Kennebunkport; and great-grandchildren, Jordan Lamb, Cashman McClure, Devin Lamb, Collin Lamb, Max McClure, Keagan McClure and Sylvia McClure.
She was predeceased by her husband, Norman Lamb July 3, 2000; her sister, Glenys Thompson; and brothers, Rolvin, Dennett and Richard Jones.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Betty Eccles and Martha Lewis, both of whom helped care for Phyllis at home during the last two years of her life.
