NORWAY – Maurice H. Twitchell, 74, of Oxford, died Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center.

He was born in South Paris on Jan. 17, 1933, to Herbert and Edna (Yates) Twitchell. He faithfully served his country in the Army as well as the U.S. Air Force.

He had worked for many years in the sheetrocking business as well as many other odd jobs. He enjoyed fishing, camping, dancing, public suppers, playing golf, cooking and the Red Sox and Patriots. He enjoyed being associated with the “Kooties,” which was a part of the Shriners Club which he belonged to in Massachusetts.

He is survived by four daughters, Karen Lovejoy of Buckfield, Diane Jackson of Lewiston, Donna Galipeau of Turner and Brenda Grubb of Lewiston; one son, Geoffrey Twitchell of South Paris; three sisters, Lorraine Harmon of Thomaston, Virginia Chichester of Florida, and Gail Papatti of Vermont; one brother, Francis Twitchell of Norway; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, George Twitchell; and his parents.
