MADISON, Tenn. – Theresa Duclos Gauthier, 90, formerly of Poland, died Sept. 17, in Madison, Tenn.

She was born in Stanstead, Canada, to Gedeon Duclos and Fabiola Rodrigue on Dec. 2, 1916. She attended boarding school in Stanstead, until the family migrated to Lewiston, where she finished her education.

She then worked in shoe factories as a fancy stitcher, managed her apartment house and operated Terry’s Specialty Shop making school uniforms and collars for parochial school girls.

In 1962, she married Roger Gauthier and moved to California, and shortly thereafter to Nashville, Tenn., where she worked as a sales clerk in large department stores, while managing her rental properties here in Nashville.

She and Roger loved to travel and went all over the states. They even drove to Alaska to find the location of her dad and his brothers gold mine. She loved dancing, sewing, crocheting, board games and as a widow traveled with her children to Hawaii, Canada and France.

She was a member of Holy Name Parish in East Nashville, American Legion Auxiliary and the Imperial Darlings Red Hat Society.

She is survived by daughters, Dolores Ebollito of Santa Clara, Calif., and Annette J. Tidwell (Earl) of Nashville, Tenn.; son, Bertrand Jutras of Redwood City, Calif.; grandchildren, Caryl Sargent of San Jose, Calif., Suzanne Rose of Santa Cruz, Calif., Robin Jutras of Lima, Ohio, Michael Tidwell of Ashland City, Tenn., and Duke Tidwell of Smyrna, Tenn.; and great-grandchildren, Tyler Sargent, Jeffry, Matthew and Emily Rose, Anthony and Shea Jutras of Lima, Ohio.

She was predeceased by her husband, Roger Gauthier; and son, Conrad N. Jutras.
