STONEVILLE, N.C. – Deborah Morton, 56, of 239 Lela Road, Stoneville, N.C., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, due to complications during her battle with lung cancer.

Deborah was born in Rumford, Aug. 7, 1951, the daughter of the late Richard and Rena Blodgett. She was raised in Rumford with her 13 siblings.

She moved away, traveling the world with her military husband, James Morton, to places such as Okinawa, Panama, Alaska and various other places around the U.S. It is said that she truly loved Alaska and enjoyed raising her children there.

She is survived by her husband, James Morton; their children, James, Christina, Patricia and Michael and her son, Joseph Touchette Jr.; her grandchildren, Rebecca, James Jr., Rena, Sahara, Tegan, Kristin and Kachina; her brothers and sisters, Richard, Ernest, Gary, Mark, Kurt, Karl, Kris, Keith, Lisa, Kim, Tira and Kelly; and her many, many nephews and nieces.

She was predeceased by her parents, Richard Blodgett, July 1990, and Rena Blodgett, July 1987.

She was a wife, a mother, a sister, an aunt and a friend who will be sadly missed.
