PORTER – Richard H. True, 66, of Main Street, passed away on Aug. 23, after a brave, hard-fought battle with cancer.
He was born Sept. 23, 1940, in Woburn, Mass., a son of Columbus H. and Geraldine Goodrich True. Richard was educated in Farmington schools.
He served four years in the U.S. Navy, based in New London, Conn., during the Vietnam era.
Richard worked for 20 years for the Connecticut Light and Power Co. and 24 years for the Central Maine Power Co., retiring in 2002. He also owned his own chimney-cleaning business in Porter for many years with his friend, Ed Libby Jr.
He was a member of the Local 1837 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in Maine and Local 42 of Hartford, Conn. He was also a member of the Kezar Falls American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Theresa M. (Finn) True of Porter; two daughters, Debrah Ann True of Brookline, Mass., and Faith True Logan and her husband, James E. Logan, of Brunswick; one granddaughter, Alexandra Margaret Logan of Brunswick; one sister, Lucia True Healey of Chesterville; two brothers, Donald True of Wilton and Daniel True and his wife, Susan True, of Bangor; and several nieces and nephews.
