Minot – Elaine F. Grover, 68, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Lewiston, March 22, 1939, the daughter of Fernand and Irma (Bernier) Dion. She was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of 1957.
She worked at Robinson Mfg., before taking time off to raise her three children.
She was active in local community organizations in the town of Oxford, like the Fireman’s Auxiliary, Oxford-Otisfield Rescue Unit, coaching softball, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts.
She continued her career working for SAD 17, in the junior high school cafeteria, where she retired after 22 years of service.
She enjoyed life with family, friends and the outdoors. She also enjoyed gardening, reading and ceramics. She was always up for a challenge.
She is survived by her three children, Michael Hurst of West Paris, CM Sgt. Jeffrey Hurst and his wife, Robin, of Hampton, Va., Kimberly Grover-Harris and her husband, Jeffrey, of McComb, Ohio; six grandchildren, Derek Hurst and his wife, Lori, of Bangor, Crystal Hurst of Utah, Samantha Jo Hurst and Kristina Hurst of Georgia, and Kassandra Harris and Zackary Harris of McComb, Ohio; and one great-grandchild on the way. She has a sister, Marie Ouellette of Minot, with whom she lived; two brothers, James Dion of Minot, and Rocque Dion and his life partner, David Wright, of Boston, Mass.
She was predeceased by her father Fernand; and her mother Irma.
Elaine will be sadly missed by many, and especially by her best friend, Judy Allen.
