AUBURN – A Celebration of Life service for John D. Dillingham was held Sunday afternoon from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son with the Rev. Russell Peppe presiding. The service began with the song, “Like a Rock,” by John Segar, then words of remembrance were shared by John’s daughters, Sonya Richards and Raquel Dillingham, John’s special friend and companion, Lana Raubeson, as well as brother-in-law, Mike Durgin, and best friend, Paul Huotari. Before proceeding to Turner Village Cemetery, services concluded with “Time in a Bottle,” by Jim Croce.

Bagpiper, Randy Mills played a Scottish dirge while leading the funeral attendees to the Dillingham lot with John’s son, Brent Dillingham, carrying his father’s urn at Turner Village Cemetery where committal prayers were read by the Rev. Peppe. Following prayers the United States Marine Corps Honor Detail played “Taps,” and presented our country’s flag to John’s daughter, Valarie Banker. Bagpiper, Randy Mills concluded services with playing “Amazing Grace.” Then all were invited to a reception of fellowship at Graziano’s Restaurant in Lisbon.
