LEWISTON – Victor L. Comeau, 70, of New Britain, Conn., died Friday, Aug. 10, at Central Maine Medical Center.
He was born in Mateghan Center, Nova Scotia, on May 28, 1937, the son of Richard and Laura Goudet Comeau.
He graduated from high school in Canada, and Goodwin Technical School in New Britain, Conn., with an associates degree in blueprinting.
He married Claudette Madore on April 23, 1960, and they resided in New Britain, Conn.
He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy. After his military service, he worked at New Britain Machine for 27 years as a machinist.
He was a member of the Franco-American War Veteran Post 26 in New Britain, Conn., the St. Jean the Baptist Club, and the French Model Club.
He is survived by his loving wife, Claudette (Madore) Comeau of New Britain, Conn.; a son, David Comeau and wife, Lori, of New Britain, Conn.; two daughters, Claudine and husband, Greg Martin, of Southington, Conn., and Robin Comeau of New Britain, Conn.; five grandchildren, Tammy and Gary Comeau of New Britain, Conn., Nicholas and Megan Martin of Southington, Conn., and Justin Comeau of New Britain, Conn.; a brother, Arthur Comeau of Nova Scotia; a sister, Lorraine Comeau of Nova Scotia; a mother-in-law, Isabelle Roy Madore, of Lewiston; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Percy and Eva Madore of Plainville, Conn., Fern and Jeanne Corriveau of Florida, Lenora Pleau of Lewiston, Clarence and Jeannette Madore of Massachusetts, Richard and Theresa Obie of Lewiston, Gerrard and Geneva Roy of Lewiston, Ronny and Jane Madore of Lewiston, and Eloi and Lucy Gervis of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Laura Comeau; three brothers, Bob, Gerald and Jean Comeau; and his father-in-law, Alcime Madore.
