LEWISTON – Dillan James Shink, 12, of East Wilton, died unexpectedly Friday, Aug. 3.

He was born April 30, 1995, in Lewiston, a son of Nicholas Shink and Alicia Delano.

Dillan was our angel while on earth and is now our angel watching over us. He was a very compassionate boy who always thought of others because he had a heart of gold.

Dillan was the epitome of a 12-year-old boy who loved fishing with anyone who would take him. He enjoyed playing all sports, especially basketball. He loved to play the clarinet, bike riding with his friends, and playfully picking on his brothers and sister. He was also a true explorer who enjoyed playing in the woods and with animals of all shapes and sizes.

Dillan is survived by his parents, Alicia Delano, and her companion, Christopher Gifford, of East Wilton, and Nicholas Shink, and Davina, of Livermore Falls; a sister, Courtney Shink; brothers, Patrick and Zackary Delano, Tyger and Skyler Shink; maternal grandparents James R. and Janet Wetherell of Livermore Falls; paternal grandparents Kevin “Cubby” and Blanche Davis of Jay and Donald and Sarah Shink of Canton; maternal great-grandparents Simone Reynolds of Lewiston and Charles and Deanna Wetherell of Lewiston; paternal great-grandparents Bruce and Patricia Hennessey of Livermore Falls and Robert and Winnie Shink of Jay; maternal aunt and uncle Eric Wetherell and Heather Pratt of Lewiston; paternal uncles and aunt Nate Grant, Jon Oberton and Adrianna Davis, all of Jay; several cousins, including Kirstyn and Brooke Wetherell of Lewiston and Kristine Macie of Livermore Falls.

He was predeceased by his great-grandfather, Merton Reynolds; and a great-great-great grandmother, Violet Martin.
