LEWISTON – Russell A. Kenney, 72, a resident of Lisbon Street, Lewiston, and a former resident of Litchfield, died July 30, after being struck by a motor vehicle in Lewiston Sunday night. He made his most recent home in Lewiston for the last seven years.

He was born May 28, 1935, in Lewiston, the son of Clifton and Hazel Sedon Kenney. He was educated in the Litchfield schools. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean War.

On July 2, 1955, in Litchfield, he married Barbara May Donahue. She passed away in 1998. He was employed at the Maine Turnpike Authority as a supervisor of maintenance, retiring in 1977, after 23 years of service.

He took pleasure in agriculture fairs and country music. He enjoyed old farm tractors and machinery and was quite a horse trader. He was a member of Morning Star Lodge in Litchfield.

He is survived by a son, Robert Kenney, and his wife, Rhonda, of Litchfield; a daughter, Jane Kenney of Litchfield; five brothers, Ronald of Litchfield, Howard of Woolwich, Warren of Candia, N.H., Fred of Harpswell and Gerald of Litchfield; two sisters, Jean Daly of Old Saybrook, Conn., and Marjorie Perry of Litchfield; four grandsons, Christopher, Nathan, Bryan and Steve Kenney; two great-granddaughters, Maranda and Hannah Kenney; and one great-grandson, Nathan Kenney.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Barbara; a sister, Roxene Knight; and a brother, Elwin Kenney.
