LEWISTON – Ralph C. “Whalebelly” Greene Jr., 61, died unexpectedly Thursday.

He was born March 21, 1946, the son of Ralph C. Greene Sr., and the former Phyllis Greeley. He was mostly known to his friends by his CB Handle, “Whalebelly.” He loved CBing, fishing, drawing cartoons and puzzle books. He served in the Army Reserves from 1965 to 1973. He worked for City Cab before becoming a welder for the Auburn Highway Department for 18 years.

He had two children, daughter, Charlotte of Waterville; a son, Ralph of Lewiston; and a granddaughter, Breanna Beaulieu of Waterville. He had one sibling, Dorothy Hatch; and two nephews, Scott and Mark Savage from Poland.

He was predeceased by both parents; and grandparents.
