SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Lionel H. Mathieu, 78, of Lewiston, died Tuesday, June 19, at San Diego, Calif.

He was born Sept. 26, 1928, the son of Henry Mathieu and Florida Gendreau Mathieu.

He proudly served in three branches of the service, and was a World War II veteran.

He enjoyed life and lived it his way!

He is survived by two sons, Leo Mathieu and his wife, Michelle, of San Diego, Calif., and Michael Mathieu and family; two sisters, Rita Mathieu Harvey and her husband, Chester, and Irene Mathieu Bennett and her husband, the late Chester Bennett; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, all of Lewiston; his first wife, Lucille Bourget Mathieu, and his second wife, Patti Minnutillo.

He was predeceased by his parents; one brother, Robert; and one son, Robert.
