FALMOUTH – Romeo Jean St. Pierre, 77, entered into eternal life on Saturday, June 16, at Sedgewood Commons, where he had been a resident for the past three months. He had previously resided in Auburn.

He was born on July 26, 1929, in Lewiston, the son of Alfred and Rose Matteau St. Pierre. He attended Lewiston schools and soon after enlisted in the Air Force, serving in the Philippines.

After returning to the states, he worked in the retail clothing business, retiring as a department manager from JCPenney in 1989, after 33 years. On April 15, 1950, he married Constance (Simard) St. Pierre, the love of his life from the age of 14.

He enjoyed his summers camping in Old Orchard with his family. The winters for years were spent in Dunedin, Fla., where he enjoyed his time with his wife and close friends. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years; two daughters, Diane Whiting, and husband, Elmer, of Auburn and Tina-Marie Driscoll, and husband, Bruce, of Greene; two sons, Henri St. Pierre, and wife, Patricia, of Gray and Marc St. Pierre, and wife, Diane, of Lewiston; a sister, Gertrude Bailey, and longtime companion, Henry Morin, of Lewiston; nine grandchildren, Matt Whiting, and fiancée, Lori Thibodeau, Patrick Driscoll, and fiancé, Erin Smith, Peter Driscoll, and fiancé, Aimee Brooks, Allyson and Sara St. Pierre, Dan and Craig LaVallee, Trinity Driscoll, Amy Coffman; and six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Jeanette Sirois of Lewiston.

The family would like to extend its gratitude to the staff of Sedgewood Commons Nursing Home for the wonderful care and friendship. Also special note of thanks to Beacon Hospice for the solace they provided to the family.
