LEWISTON – Marjorie M. Delehanty, 86, formerly of King Road, Lisbon, died Friday, June 8, at Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center.
She was born in Lisbon on April 21, 1921, a daughter to the late Wilbur and Annie (Stone) Mann. She graduated from Lisbon High School, Class of 1937, just two months after turning 15. After high school she attended business college.
She married the love of her life, William Michael Delehanty, on Feb. 6, 1941. He predeceased her on Nov. 8, 2000.
She was a full time mother and homemaker. A voracious reader, she averaged at least a book a day all of her adult life. She enjoyed learning new things, sewing and woodworking – making most of the bookcases for all of her books.
She was a loving mother, enjoying all aspects of raising children. She was a former member of Pine Tree Grange No. 3.
She leaves a daughter, Kathleen M. Delehanty of Auburn; a son, Michael W. Delehanty, and his wife, Priscilla, of Otisfield; three grandchildren, Jessica, Donald and Denis Delehanty; and three great-grandchildren, Christina, Colby and Carly.
She was predeceased by a son, David; and a great-grandson, Shiloh.
